Spring Scamper car rally
Hosted by Milwaukee Region SCCA, this 120-mile time-speed-distance rally will take you and your rally partner on a 4-hour driving adventure. Your rally master, Jim Crittenden, has prepared an all-new rally course through the scenic Wisconsin countryside west of Madison. You’ll use the route instruction clues to follow the rally course and try to arrive at each checkpoint at precisely the right time based on the assigned average speeds.

You’ll need a smartphone to run the Richta GPS Checkpoint app that will do all of the timing and scoring automatically for you. As soon as you arrive at each checkpoint, the Richta app will record your arrival time, announce your score, and tell you whether you were early or late. The Richta app now has a voice option, so it literally does “announce” your leg score – you don’t have to read it on your phone. You can use this immediate feedback to know exactly how you’re doing and apply this to improve your rally driving skill.
We’ll be starting in Verona (10 miles southwest of Madison), and we’ll finish at Dottie’s Restaurant in Cross Plains, where you can enjoy food and beverage while we will award trophies to the top teams. The laser engraved 16 oz Pilsner beer glass trophies are back by popular demand.
Online registration is now open at msreg.com/springscamper2023. The entry fee is $22.50/per person, and 2 people are required in each car.
Line up a rally partner, register online and prepare to bring that car you love to drive and join us (in less than two months) on Sunday, April 2nd, in Madison for the 2023 Spring Scamper.
We are looking forward to seeing you,
