50 years 911 Turbo

The year 2024 is all about the 50th anniversary of the 911 Turbo.
The story of the turbocharged Porsche 911 began in 1973. At the IAA in Frankfurt, Porsche presented a silver 911 Coupé as the prototype of a turbo version of the 911. It stood at the show as the herald of a new era: the age of high-performance sports cars had begun.

After a world tour in 1975, the turbo 911 prototype was converted at the Zuffenhausen factory into a race-ready RSR for Australian racing driver Alan Hamilton, after which it remained in private ownership for a long time. To mark the anniversary, the car has been restored to the condition in which it was exhibited at the 1973 Frankfurt Motor Show.
