On December 4, 2022, the Central Wisconsin Region of the Porsche Club of America held its yearly Holiday Banquet at Rex’s Innkeeper in Waunakee, Wisconsin.
Over 60 club members attended the festivities, and the weather cooperated. (There was no snow!) Mercifully, there were no “speeches,” but club member Steve Stone did an admirable job of emceeing the event.
Board members and chairs in attendance were acknowledged for their work for the club in 2022. Gregg Elliott – Past President, Chuck Schmeling – Treasure; John D’Anna – Newsletter; Andreas Kottschoth – Webpage; Joyce Rolnick and Rita McGovern, our outgoing Social Chairs. Becky Johnson was introduced as our new Social Chair and received a warm welcome. The club also presented Gail Schmeling with a bouquet of flowers for her many years of volunteering for the club.
After some light appetizers and cocktails, we sat down to a delicious lunch, during which club social chairs Joyce Rolnick and Rita McGovern picked names out of a hat to raffle off many wonderful prizes donated by members and local businesses.
The club members also donated many unwrapped toys for the U.S. Marine Corps Toys of Tots to fill up Santa’s sleigh.
It was a beautiful event to have the opportunity to gather, socialize with old friends and meet new friends. We are all looking forward to Spring when most of us bring our Porsches out of hibernation and resume driving the beautiful roads of the Wisconsin countryside.
